Chris and David started Penny AI in 2018 in Squamish, BC (a bit north of Vancouver) after seeing an opportunity to solve a massive problem for millions of direct sales consultants around the world. The Role
Penny is looking for a Translation and UI Copy Coordinator to join our team as we work to evolve and refine our user experience for a global market.
The Translation and UI Copy Coordinator will:
- Provide input on Penny's multilingual strategy to support business needs and align with our content production strategy
- Serve as the main point of contact for our multilingual, translation, and transcreation services
- Plan and schedule projects according to expected timelines and resource capacity
- Influence stakeholder preferences for direct translation, localization, and transcreation
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and quickly resolve technical translation or UI Copy issues and/or inconsistencies of Penny's UX Copy Guidelines
- Familiarize yourself with the Direct Sales market and categorize strings, copy, and chunks of content that must be transcreated with care
- Conduct research and surface insights about best practices, copy style, branded terms and phrases, slogans, and voice per partner per language
- Manage workflow with our solution providers
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with proven record of context-specific translation and multilingual problem solving
- Knowledge of North American English idioms, phrasal verbs, slogan, branding, and jargon that lends to translation issues
- Knowledge of UX Copy and Content Best Practices
- Intermediate knowledge of Content Management Frameworks and Systems
- Intermediate knowledge of User Experience Research
- Proven record of bringing insights to action
- Proven record of managing complex project with multiple stakeholders and competing timelines
- Proven record of cross-functional leadership and influence
Bonus Skills
- Experience as a professional linguist, translator, or linguistic service coordinator a plus
- Experience managing technical glossaries, translation tools, or automated translations, a plus
- Bilingual, Bicultural a plus
