Position Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed (senior) scientist to lead a translational research team aiming to characterize the immunological response to arenavirus immunotherapy in human in vitro models and clinical trial samples.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead translational research projects with a team of 3 experienced lab technicians.
- Develop scientific strategy for translational research projects, in close consultation with the head of department and relevant stakeholders (Clinical Biomarkers, Global R&D…)
- Design and perform experiments focused on antigen specific CD8+ T cell characterization in primary human cells (e.g. ELISpot, FACS, gene expression analyzes, TCR sequencing…)
- Analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot as required.
- Implement these techniques for exploratory analyses of clinical trial samples, according to GCP guidelines.
- Write, review and approve SOPs, study plans and reports.
- Oversee technical and theoretical training of team members.
- Evaluate deviations, review, approve and release data.
- Present and discuss results at internal and external meetings.
- Manage team´s resources and timelines, coordinating the work of team members and external partners and prioritizing projects and tasks as needed.
- Maintain engagement of team members and promote their personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:
- PhD in life sciences
- Minimum 3 years hands-on laboratory experience with immunological assays and primary human cell culture techniques
- Experience with working under GCP guidelines for clinical trial sample analysis is an advantage.
- Independent and proactive work style, detail-oriented, well-organized
- Strong interpersonal skills, open-minded and flexible team-player
- Able to motivate others and lead by example
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 4.112,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program. The position is a temporary replacement (Karenzvertretung) and is expected to last until 30.06.2025.
